Dirk Marwig 1984 New York City- 3 Watercolours (Lost and Found Situation!)

Paintings Dirk Marwig 1984 NYC

3 photos of watercolour paintings of mine from 1984 -(I was 23)- that an art collector from New Jersey sent to me last week. He wanted to know the story behind them. The main story behind these paintings is that I was never paid for these pieces( somehow they were left in storage by my ex-girlfriend) but they have since then changed “hands” several times until this collector bought them recently (from one of these “hands”) and contacted me(via this website) for provenance reasons.Lost and Found!

Number 7 #2 A

The same concept as “Homage to the amazing Number 7” using damaged restwood that would normally go into the garbage. Thank you.

Homage to the amazing Number 7 (Recycled patio table top and oil, 25cm x 47.5cm x 48cm, Dirk Marwig 2019)

Amazing Number 7

The amazing number 7 -look up the meaning and significance of this number! For this object I used an old wooden patio table top and constructed 15 regular Heptagons cut at an angle(so that they would not be flat) then stacked and glued them together according to size (from small to large). So simple but not.
